The University of York’s campus is packed with places to eat and drink. There’s a whole number of cafés and restaurants offering everything from burgers and burritos to healthy Asian broths and salads, as well as bars and pubs for late night cocktails and pints.

If you want to head off campus, you’ll find more places to eat and drink in the city centre. With plenty of traditional tea rooms like Betty’s Cafe and a range of restaurants from fine dining at Melton’s to classic Italian at Il Paridiso del Cibo, every taste is catered for in York.

Getting to York University
With great rail links, close to major road networks and a nearby international airports, getting to the University of York is easy.

By car
There are limited parking spaces on campus, so visitor parking is pay and display. It costs £1 per hour or £6 per day, and is free at evenings and weekends.

By bus
Buses heading to the university pass through the city centre every 5 minutes during the day. Hop on a bus and you’ll be on campus in 20 minutes.

By train
The university’s main campus is located to the southeast of York city centre. If you’re arriving at York railway station either take your time with a 45-minute walk or jump on a bus.
