Bars

As you’d expect, the seafront is a hive of bars, pubs and clubs, and it’s where you’ll find some of our favourite Worthing watering holes. Leading the way is The Goose. The bar is stocked with an enviable range of drinks and bar games, while the beachfront terrace is the place to be on long summer evenings.

A few streets back from the beach is The Libertine, a favourite bar with a lively events programme including retro gaming sessions and plenty of live music. It also boasts one of the best gin collections in Worthing, and a large outdoor area perfect for tasting them.

Equally impressive is The Egremont Bar which boasts over 50 different types of gin as well as a wide range of ales, ciders and wine. A stylish watering hole with stained glass windows, plush seating and a large wooden bar, the Brighton Road bar also does a great range of food including vegan and gluten-free options.

While there are plenty of bars and pubs putting on live music in Worthing, if you think you can do the job yourself, Bar Next Door is one of the leading karaoke bars in town. With a late license until 2am at the weekends, a friendly crowd and theme nights covering 80s, Northern Soul and funk, the Rowlands Road venue is well worth the five-minute walk from the town centre.

Heading further west, you’ll find The Grizzly Bear near the West Worthing train station. A cool, slightly hipster venue with exposed wood surfaces and an indoor greenhouse feel thanks to the overgrowing vegetation, this is the place to come for daring and different craft ales and real beer – Tiramisu Stout, anyone?

Pubs

With a large patio garden, a cracking Sunday lunch and a list of craft beer, wine and gins as long as your arm, The Corner House takes some beating. One of Worthing’s oldest pubs, it’s been smartly modernised and is a great spot for a quick drink, a pub meal or an evening session working your way through their range of local beers. Plus, it’s just a five-minute walk from our Worthing Seafront hotel.

Even older still is The Hare & Hounds which dates back to 1814. Once a fisherman’s cottage, the historic pub serves a wide range of cask ales, whisky and wine and has a busy events programme spanning weekly quiz nights, guest bands and regular food and drink deals. The dark wooden pub is the perfect place to hunker down in winter with a roaring fire, while the large suntrap beer garden is perfect for summer drinks and comes with outdoor heaters and blankets if you feel the cold.

Heading north of the centre, you’ll find several highly-recommended pubs including The North Star and The Thomas A Becket, both a short walk from each other along Littlehampton Road. They both serve up great pub grub, a wide range of cask ale, lager, wine and spirits in a friendly atmosphere.

While the previously mentioned pubs have an impressive selection of beer, none come close to the Brooksteed Alehouse which boasts a rotating cast of over 20 different types of beer, ale, cider and lager plus dozens more specialist bottles and cans. Founded in 2014, the compact pub near Worthing Station has quickly built up a loyal following.

Another pub that packs a punch is The Georgi Fin Micropub in West Worthing, a five-minute drive from our Littlehampton hotel. The small brick and wood-lined pub offers up to nine cask ales including stouts, IPAs and craft lager with a focus on local breweries as well as a wide range of ciders, wines and spirits.

Clubs

For high-tempo music and expertly mixed drinks, look no further than Ten Cocktail Bar. A bright and lively bar that gets busy at the weekend, they serve up a wide range of cocktails and, thanks to their DJs playing every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, they have a bustling dancefloor open until 3am at the weekend.

Just around the corner on Chatsworth Road is Liquid & Oxygen. Combining two venues in one, Oxygen acts as the pre-club bar with connecting venue Liquid a fully-fledged nightclub open until 3am on Friday and Saturday night. Musically, the two rooms cover a lot of ground, moving between urban, hip hop and even drum and bass, EDM and house music.
