Just 20 miles from the centre of London, there’s much more to Woking than just being a satellite town to the nation’s capital. A wonderfully modern town, and the largest in Surrey, Woking is a winning mix of the old and the new. For a taste of history, look no further than the stunning RHS Garden Wisley and its 400-acres of horticultural magic or Brooklands Museum, where you can chart the history of motoring and aviation, and even climb aboard one of the few remaining Concords. And thanks to the art gallery/museum/event space The Lightbox, The Living Planet Centre – one of the greenest buildings in the UK – and Mercedes-Benz World, there are plenty of modern activities to check out. The vibrant town centre is an easy walk from our two Woking hotels offering a wide range of pubs, bars, cafés and restaurants. And we haven’t even started to tell you about Thorpe Park and its 30 adrenaline-pumping rides, the New Victoria Theatre and its 1,300-capacity West End shows, the award-winning Ambassadors Cinema and so much more!

Places to eat
We might have had a tough choice deciding on which restaurants, cafés and coffee shops made the cut in our Woking guide, but you have to make the choice between waffles or an all-day breakfast or between a medium rare steak or BBQ Korean beef or whether you’re going to have that second slice of cake…
Nightlife
With a compact town centre, there are plenty of bars, pubs and clubs a short walk from our two Woking hotels. But head out into the countryside and you’ll be rewarded with some excellent pubs with roaring fires in the winter, large pub gardens in the summer and some truly excellent pub-grub.
Shopping
Literally over the road from our Woking Town Centre hotel, Woking Shopping Centre is home to over 150 stores, cafés, bars and restaurants as well as a theatre and cinema. Comprised of two nearby malls, Woking Shopping Centre and Peacocks shopping centre, the main shopping district in the town has a wide range of stores spanning fashion, health, food, electronics, homeware and more, with big names including Boots, Debenhams, New Look and Topshop. The six-screen Ambassadors cinema and The New Victoria Theatre are also located in the Woking shopping centre alongside over 15 cafés, bars and restaurants covering everything from coffee and doughnuts on the go to a sit down three-course meal.
A covered market in the middle of the Woking Shopping Centre, Woking Market is the perfect place to pick up farm-fresh produce, a wide range of street food, fresh baked goods and more. The market is open daily and is a great place to get some food-on-the-go, with a wide range of stalls and traders.
