If you fancy a spot of retail therapy during your stay in Wells, Clarks Village is one of the most popular shopping centres in Somerset. It’s a 15-minute drive away and home to more than 90 outlet stores including Barbour, Osprey, The North Face, Lakeland and an enormous Clarks factory store. For a bargain, head to Market Place for the outdoor market on Wednesdays and Saturdays and tie it in with a walk up and down Wells High Street and a visit to the excellent independent shops and boutiques of the Wells Artisan Quarter on Priory Road.

Getting Around

If you’re driving to Wells, the city is well connected on the A39 with Bath to the north-east and Glastonbury to the south-west. The city no longer has its own railway station, but First West of England operates bus services to Bristol Temple Meads station as well as Bath, Yeovil, Taunton and Weston-super-Mare. If you’re travelling from further afield, Bristol Airport is on the other side of the Mendip Hills and just a 30-minute drive away. Alternatively, stay with us at one of our hotels near Bristol Airport.
