Theatre
From big-name bands to Shakespeare plays, ballet and stand-up comedy, it’s all going on at Warrington’s Pyramid and Parr Hall.
You know a venue has impeccable history when bands like The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Arctic Monkeys and The Stone Roses have played there in recent times. A 1,000-capacity space, Parr Hall is largely used for live music and comedy, with Bill Bailey and John Bishop recent guests. Located in the Cultural Quarter, it’s just a short walk from our Warrington Central North hotel.
Run by the same company and part of the same complex as Parr Hall is Pyramid Warrington, an arts centre built in 2002 that puts on a wide range of events including dance, theatre, comedy, ballet and more. With regular events, workshops and activities, it’s the town’s cultural heartbeat and a great place to check out.

Sport
Rugby league and football loom large in Warrington. Find out everything you need to know to catch a slice of the action while you’re in town.
Part of the M62 rugby league corridor that stretches from Hull to St. Helens, Warrington Wolves are a professional rugby league team founded in 1876 and are the only team to have played in the top flight every season. Nicknamed ‘The Wire’, they have strong local derbies against Widnes, St. Helens and Wigan, and have won three League Championships and eight Challenge Cups during their illustrious history.
You can catch home games at the 13,000-capacity Halliwell Jones Stadium in the heart of town.
The north-west is strong rugby league and football territory, with Warrington Town F.C representing the beautiful game. Founded in 1949, the team reached their peak in recent years when they won through to the second round of the FA Cup in 2014 before getting promoted to the Northern Premier League (effectively the seventh tier of the national league system) in 2016.
They play their home games at the Winner Recruitment Stadium near Stockton Heath and just a 10-minute drive from our Warrington (M6/J21) hotel.
