If you want to see a show during your stay in Tewkesbury, two of the finest theatre outside of London are nearby and regularly welcome West End productions. On the one hand, you can make your way to Malvern and pay a visit to the stunning Malvern Theatres complex, which is housed in the Winter Gardens and has been an incredible home of the arts since the end of the 19th century.

On the other hand, you can head to Cheltenham to visit Frank Matcham’s stunning Everyman Theatre, which has been an incredible home of the arts since 1891 and recently completed a beautiful refurbishment to restore it to its gilded, glittering best.

However, you don’t need to leave Tewkesbury to see great productions. Just off High Street, on Sun Street, you’ll find the excellent The Roses Theatre with its diverse programme of cinema, live music, theatre and dance. The main auditorium seats a capacity audience of 375 people; it’s comfy; the tickets are reasonably priced; and there are some excellent places to eat in Tewkesbury nearby should you fancy a pre-theatre dinner.

Sport

Every March, nearby Cheltenham welcomes one of the biggest events of the national sporting calendar, the Cheltenham Festival. Stay with us at our Cheltenham North West hotel and take a look at our page dedicated to the horse racing extravaganza held at Cheltenham Racecourse, which turns the regency town into a hub of excitement with four days of racing, gambling and beverages before culminating in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

While Tewkesbury doesn’t have much in the way of sporting options to brag about, it’s worth taking a look at the best Cheltenham entertainment options. For example, football fans may be interested in visiting Whaddon Road to see a Cheltenham Town FC home game.
