Shopping in Telford
Shopping centres
If you’re looking to indulge in a spot of retail therapy, Telford Shopping Centre is the place to be. Handily located right in the heart of the town and on the doorstep of our Telford International Centre hotel, just a four-minute walk away, it is a sprawling mall with almost 180 stores, as well as a host of cafés, bars and restaurants to keep you going after all that shopping. You can find out more about Telford Shopping Centre on its dedicated page.
A short distance outside the town centre is Telford’s premier open-air shopping destination, The Forge Retail Park. Here, you can pick up the latest fashions and homeware, and even find some bargains in Next, the Gap Outlet, TK Maxx, Dunelm or Boots.
Providing sustenance to the weary shopaholic, the retail park is home to an enormous Sainsbury’s, a McDonald’s, Frankie and Benny’s and Costa Coffee. But, if you’re in the mood for something different, you’re only a five-minute drive or 20-minute walk from our Telford Central hotel and a lot of the best places to eat in Telford.
With over 1,300 free car parking spaces on-site, including award-winning accessible facilities, and open until 8.30pm Monday to Saturday, The Forge Retail Park is a handy option if you’re looking to do a bit of shopping after Telford Shopping Centre has closed for the day.
Markets
Having been humming since 1244, Wellington Market is a Telford institution. Spread out over a heated indoor space and outdoor area, the market has over 120 units and an excitingly eclectic selection of traders.
At the market, you can find everything from fresh fruit and veg, meat and baked goods from specialist grocers, butchers and bakers to homewares, haberdashery, fashion, jewellery, stationery, handmade crafts and textiles.
If hunger strikes, the market’s café is an ever-popular place to enjoy some local, homemade cooking, and the deli is stocked full of delicious cheeses, hams and condiments for you to take away.
Just a 15-minute drive away from our Telford North hotel, the market is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with traders there from 9am to 4pm, and 4.30pm on Saturdays.
Designer shops
If you’re in the market for some high-end threads, Telford’s premier designer store Diffusion is the place to head. Inside Telford Shopping Centre, Diffusion is a welcome addition to Telford’s already thriving shopping roster. It sells a broad mix of brands you won’t usually find on the high street and pulls inspiration from fine Italian haute couture to cult American labels and British favourites, like Diesel, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Barbour, Versace Jeans and Tommy Hilfiger.
