Nightlife in Slough
Pubs and Bars
While the Three Tuns Pub might look like your regular pub from the outside – a two-storey brick building that looks suitably traditional – the smells that emanate from the kitchen inside tell a very different story. Dispensing with the usual pub grub menu, they offer excellent Indian food, including more curries, bhajis and biryanis than you could shake a poppadom at. Factor in a well-stocked bar, friendly service and its walking distance location along Bath Road to our Slough Central South hotel and you have a real winner.
Heading in towards Slough’s town centre, The Moon and The Spoon is a standard Wetherspoons pub offering well-priced food including a decent pizza menu, a grand granite bar stocked with real ales, wines, lagers and spirits, and no-frills entertainment.
For something a little more lively, head to The Wheatsheaf, a popular local pub busy with pub quizzes, live music, darts matches and all the latest sporting action on several large screens. Food is served daily during lunch and on Wednesday and Friday evenings, while the large beer garden is perfect for working your way through their extensive bar.
Heading north towards Langley Park, The Red Lion is an excellent semi-rural pub in Stoke Green that’s been serving the local community for over 400 years. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday roasts and with a menu spanning classic pub grub, the Red Lion also has an outdoor terrace, perfect for sunnier weather and trying their range of cocktails, cask ales and fine wines.
Nearby Windsor is another great source of bars and pubs, with the Fuzzy Bear Cocktails and Comedy in Windsor Royal Shopping being a firm favourite. The self-fulfilling name aptly describes the bar’s appeal, with strong cocktails and even stronger language from their roster of comedians. They also do karaoke sessions and open until 3am, with club music and guest DJs at the weekend.
If you are looking for a late night dancing (and drinking) session, Vanilla Windsor is right next door and is the leading club in the area. Open Friday and Saturday night, take your pick from their cocktail menu, book a booth and a bottle or head to the main dance floor for a fun mix of current pop and dance music, with a late license until 3am.
Finally, east of Windsor in Datchet and just a short taxi ride south from our Slough Central South hotel is Franko’s Italian Bar & Lounge. This is a wonderfully Italian bar that dishes up wood-fired pizza and cool imported beers with a friendly, efficient service.
