Gunwharf Quays
Not just one of the leading shopping centres on the south coast, but an entertainment destination in its own right, Gunwharf Quays has everything you’d expect from a modern-day shopping centre, and more. Home to over 90 stores including a Nike Factory Store, Polo Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss and Michael Kors, many of which are outlet stores offering big high street discounts, the Quays is also home to dozens of cafés, bars and restaurants including Brasserie Blanc and Loch Fyne.
The fun doesn’t stop there, however, as you’ll also find a Vue cinema complex, a Hollywood Bowl, a contemporary art gallery and even a nightclub and casino in the same centre. If that’s all a bit much to take in, head to the nearby Spinnaker Tower to get a different perspective on it. A 170-metre-tall viewing platform with a glass ceiling, it offers amazing views over the Quays, Portsmouth and out to sea and is a great way to plan your way around the Gunwharf Quays. Located to the west of the city centre on the coast, the Quays is just a short walk from our City Centre hotel and just next to Portsmouth harbour.

Cascades Shopping
Cascades Shopping Centre
Opened in 1989, the Cascades Shopping Centre is a stylish multistorey city centre shopping centre, home to over 60 stores including Marks & Spencer, H&M, T K Maxx, Next, The Fragrance Shop, and Primark. As well as high street names, they have shops spanning footwear, health and beauty and technology as well as five restaurants and cafés including Starbucks, Boswells and Sweets 4 U, an old-school sweet shop that will take you on a sweet-toothed trip down memory lane. The centre is open until 6pm Monday to Saturday and from 10.30am until 4.30pm on Sundays. There’s also a large on-site car park which charges by the hour, while the centre is less than five minutes from our City Centre hotel.
Port Solent – The Boardwalk Shopping Centre
Located to the north of Portsmouth, Port Solent is another entertainment hub that balances retail outlets, bars and restaurants, an Odeon cinema and a popular marina, home to over 800 boats, yachts and dinghies. The shopping is more low key than elsewhere in Portsmouth and is all the better for it, with more niche, smaller brands like Cotton Traders, Snow & Rock and Pavers Shoes sharing the space with The Trading Post, a cool collection of boutique traders where you can pick up everything from gifts to homeware and bespoke jewellery. The centre is also ideally located just a five-minute drive from both our Port Solent hotel and Portsmouth North Harbour hotel.
