Westgate Oxford

At over 800,000 square feet – that’s around 13 football pitches – Westgate Oxford is a huge shopping, leisure and food and drink hub for Oxford and much of the surrounding area.

Built in the 70s but radically redeveloped in 2017 at a cost of £440 million, the centre is home to hundreds of shops, bars and restaurants, a five-screen cinema complex, several public squares, over 1,100 car park spaces and a stunning rooftop dining terrace overlooking Oxford’s historic skyline. Annually, the centre attracts over 15 million visitors making it one of the busiest shopping centres in the UK.

The leading retail space in Oxford, Westgate is the perfect place to come for high street names, designer brands, electronic goods and more. Spread over two floors, you’ll find big names like H&M, Cath Kidston, Levi’s, JD Sports, New Look, Next, Oasis and Primark.

And once you’ve finished shopping, there are dozens of bars, cafés and restaurants to tuck into. For something quick and on the go head to Costa Coffee or Pret, or get your sushi fix at Sticks’n’Sushi, your Lebanese fill at Comptoir Libanais or something sweet from Crêpe ’O’ Mania or Paul".

The fun doesn’t stop there, however. The Junkyard golf course is 27 holes of supremely crazy golf complete with a UFC bear cage, crazy slides, a hall of mirrors and even a tree house bar where you can stop for a cocktail mid-round.

For something a little more chilled, the five-screen Curzon complex is a great way to while away a few hours. An upmarket cinema, café and bar, expect to see a carefully curated selection of left-field and independent films alongside bigger Hollywood blockbuster films, all while knocking back cocktails, tucking into a craft beer or a fine wine.

Located to the south of the city centre, Westgate is just a short walk from Oxford Castle.
