Whether you’ve spent the day on The Strand beach, walking along the South West Coast Path, or exploring Exmoor National Park, if you’ve got any steam left for some evening entertainment then we’ve got a couple of options to tell you about. First of all, you can make your way to the local Regal Theatre in the heart of Minehead for its excellent programme of professional and semi-professional drama. Or, you can make your way to one of a handful of venues in Butlins, the entertainment resort which hosts everything from the Teletubbies to world-famous tribute bands.
Entertainment in Minehead
Regal Theatre
The Avenue in Minehead is home to two of our favourite places in town. First of all is Tom’s Fish Bar, one of our top places to eat in Minehead recommendations. Hot on its heels though is the Regal Theatre. It’s a small auditorium with a wonderfully curated programme of professional and community shows which range from classic drama to comedy, dance and pantos. The diversity of shows on offer from the Regal Theatre is shown in their past performances, which range from Les Miserables to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Take a look at its website and see what’s on during your stay if you fancy an evening of quality entertainment with tickets at reasonable prices and a well stocked bar to visit during the interval.

Butlins
You don’t need to stay at Butlins to enjoy its renowned entertainment options. If you’re enjoying a break at our Minehead hotel, you can still make the twenty-minute walk to Butlins. It’s home to the Skyline Pavilion, which can seat more than 5,500 people, the Centre Stage, which is roughly half its size, Reds, which is half that again, or Butlins’ more intimate 200-seat theatre. Across the four venues you can see live music, comedy, drama, dance, pantos, wrestling and even the circus. Plus, if you’re visiting with young family then be sure to make the most of Butlins’ excellent character shows, such as the Teletubbies and Paddington Bear.
You can also tag along for one of their Ex More Adventures, which include climbing, diving, horse riding, fishing, sailing and driving around the wonderful Exmoor National Park, which ranks among our top activities in Minehead.
