Gulliver's Land
Essential Information
Opened in 1999, the theme park is designed for children and families and includes everything from a Dinosaur Park, a NERF and Splash Zone and a new JCB arena where kids get to play with some seriously impressive diggers and tractors.
There are over 70 attractions over the park, with rides designed for children aged two to 13. The rides span everything from classic fairground staples like dodgems and the flying carpet to junior roller coasters, huge soft play areas and mazes.
The lands include Adventure Land, Lilliput Land, Discovery Bay, Toy Land, Main Street, Lilliput Land Castle and Junior Discovery Cove. Most rides require the children to be 90cm and taller, with the more adventurous rides – including The Buccaneer and Jungle Falls – requiring riders to be 120cm or over.
One of the newest areas is the Dinosaur and Farm Park which includes 32 lifelike animatronic dinosaurs including a T-Rex. You can also get up close and personal with creepy-crawlies at the Reptile and Bug Centre. Alternatively, head to the Splash Zone for an indoor swimming experience, encompassing several water slides, water cannons, a giant tipping bucket and splash zones. And with the water heated and not deep enough to swim in, it’s a safe and comfortable family space whatever the weather is like outside.
Another new addition is the NERF Zone, where you can battle it out with Nerf Blasters in a battle arena or practise your aim in the shooting range. Ambitious kids can try their hand at the SFear zone, shaped like a golf ball it’s home to a network of scramble nets, tightropes and rope bridges.
There are five on-site eateries including a pizza and pasta restaurant, a burger joint and a Costa if you’re in need of a caffeine fix. The park is open most of the year, but it does close during winter, reopening for school holidays including Christmas and half-term.
