Stockwood Discovery Centre
Located on the large Stockwood Park just south of Luton town centre and a short drive from our Dunstable South hotel, Stockwood Discovery Centre is a fascinating museum that explores the region’s local history from the prehistoric period up to the present day. And it’s the focus on the modern day gardens with an emphasis on environmentally green and sustainable principles that’s most interesting for modern generations and the green-fingered.

Wrest Park
Wrest Park encapsulates everything that’s great about the quintessential English garden. Spread over 92-acres and 15-minutes drive north from Luton town centre, the park includes a sculpture gallery, walking trails, beautifully landscaped gardens that have been created and manicured for three centuries, a café for afternoon tea and an action-packed children’s play area.
Whipsnade Zoo
On the edge of the Dunstable Downs, and less than five minutes from our Dunstable South hotel, Whipsnade Zoo is one of the best-loved UK zoos. Spread over a massive 600-acres, there are more than 2,500 animals including cheetahs, lions, zebras, white rhinos, red pandas and more. As well as getting to view the animals in their large enclosures, there are plenty of experiences including being a zookeeper for the day, feeding the giraffes and even overnight camping.
The Snow Centre
Whether you’re a complete novice or a slalom specialist, The Snow Centre in nearby Hemel Hempstead is just down the road from our Luton South hotel. The 160m main slope is 30m wide and home to the largest indoor ski lesson slope in the UK, making it perfect for beginners and the more experienced. You can hire out a full range of kit, sign up for freestyle sessions and lessons or just watch the action from the alpine-themed café and restaurant.
Orbital Trampoline Park
If your idea of exercise is a giant warehouse packed full of foam pits, trampolines, tightrope beams, climbing walls and ninja warrior courses, then the Orbital Trampoline Park is the one for you. A short hop, skip and bounce from our Dunstable/Luton hotel, the warehouse – the same size as 10 tennis courts – is open daily until 9pm with a range of sessions to suit toddlers, teenagers and those looking for a proper high-intensity workout.
Wardown House, Museum & Gallery
Step back in time to the Victorian era at the Wardown House, Museum & Gallery and discover what life was like in the 19th century. With hands-on, immersive displays and a range of different rooms that accurately depict Victorian life, the museum is a great place to actively discover history, while the Victorian mansion is also home to a Regiment Gallery and the Luton Life Gallery.
Woodside Farm Park
The perfect family day out with young kids, Woodside Farm Park near Stockwood Park is bursting with fun. From the expansive farm and zoo with exotic animals that you can feed, pet and even cuddle to the crazy golf, mini fun fair, tractor rides and indoor soft play, there’s lots to see and do whatever the weather. Plus, the café is loaded with goodies from the farm including fresh cakes, organic juices, free-range eggs and even a wide range of old-fashioned sweets.
