Stay with us at one of our Livingston hotels, and you’ll fall in love with the town’s fantastic range of days out. Wildlife lovers can take their pick from zoos and the Scottish Owl Centre. Foodies will have fun filling up on the fab menus of our favourite restaurants. Rockers have a handful of great live music pubs to peruse, and that’s just the start. We’ve gathered together the pick of West Lothian, including your best bet if you want to do a bit of SuBo spotting. Take a look, and tick off as much as you can.
Things to do in Livingston
Places to eat
At the top of your culinary options is a training restaurant that offers outrageously good eating at a stupidly good value. But it’s not open all the time, so you may want to try some of our alternatives, including a couple of curry houses, an authentic trattoria and a slick fusion restaurant with the most creative menu in the county.
Nightlife
Come on a crawl around some of our favourite bars and pubs in Livingston and Bathgate. Your options range from bawdy boozers right the way through to stylish cafe bars and cocktail menus. And to round things off, we point you in the direction of Dreadnought Rock, the legendary live music venue and nightclub.
Shopping
If you fancy a shopping spree during your stay, the Livingston Designer Outlet is home to a huge selection of stores, including popular fashion brands like Fred Perry, Barbour, Nike and Tommy Hilfiger. It’s also home to the Livingston Vue Cinema. It’s a huge shopping centre surrounding an impressive glass dome centrepiece. The Centre is just next door. It’s just where you’ll find the Disney Store, Foot Locker, Primark and Topshop. If you build up an appetite with all that retail therapy, there are heaps of fast-food options for you to choose from, too.
Getting Around
Livingston North, Livingston South and Uphall are the town’s three train stations. Livingston North and Uphall are both on the North Clyde Line. Livingston South is on the Shotts Line. You can travel directly to Glasgow Central and Edinburgh Waverley using any one of the three train stations. If you need to catch a cab during your stay, there are several local Livingston taxi companies, Fair Deal Cabs and All The Fours being a couple of the most popular. If you’re travelling from further afield, Edinburgh Airport is your closest international airport and around a 15-minute drive from both of our Livingston hotels.
