Feast your eyes on our roundup of Kidderminsters best restaurants and cafes. With not one, not two, but three French restaurants to tell you about, as well as exotic competition from India and the Orient, and a weekend carvery with one of the best views in Kidderminster, you really are spoilt for choice.

Restaurants
When it comes to an evening’s meal you can’t go wrong with a visit to Bistrot Pierre, the chain of stylish French restaurants that has grown from the Midlands to 25 locations across the UK. Kidderminster’s branch of Bistrot Pierre can be found on the riverside, just a couple of minute’s stroll away from our Kidderminster hotel.
If you’re craving a curry then we suggest making your way to George Street and Sher-E-Punjab. The food is fresh, authentic and absolutely packed full of flavour. The service is always excellent, and the prices will properly put a smile on your face. There’s a reason why a lot of people in Kidderminster pick Sher-E-Punjab as their local Indian restaurant.
Alternatively, if you’d rather a taste of the Orient then you’ll want to try China Lodge on Bewdley Road. It’s a lovely airy restaurant that’s always busy, and when you try the food you’ll understand why. It’s not the most authentic Chinese food you’ll find but the portions will keep you busy and the taste will bring you back again and again.
La Brasserie, our next recommendation, may look a little dated on the outside but don’t judge a book by its cover. Inside you’ll be treated to some seriously pukka French cuisine and service that goes the extra mile. It’s refreshing to dine out at a traditional restaurant that hasn’t been caught up in the whirlwind of fads and food trends. The menu is made up of classics cooked to perfection, and you really can’t beat the beef bourguignon or the dauphinoise potatoes.
The Bodenham Arboretum is one of our favourite activities in Kidderminster. When you’ve finished exploring the stunning valley of trees and ponds, make your way to the Bodenham Arboretum Restaurant for a carvery lunch. Combined with the view from the main restaurant, which looks out across the lake, you simply can’t beat it.
It’s a cliche, but we’ve saved the best until last. If you want high-quality bistro eats then make your way to La Petite Gare. It’s a lovely little neighbourhood restaurant opposite Kidderminster Station with the best chateaubriand in the business. Having said that, don’t let us sway your decision; everything on the menu is delicious. The prices are reasonable considering the exceptional eating and first-rate service.

Cafés
If you’re plotting a visit to the Bodenham Arboretum, and you get peckish on the way, or you're famished on the way back, then head to The Old Village Store for some delicious, simple, freshly made food. The sandwiches and toasties are marvellous, and so too are the cakes.
Just across the road from Kidderminster Station, you’ll find AJ’s Diner, home to one of the biggest and best breakfasts in town. The cafe itself is like a time warp with vintage signs and bric-a-brac furniture. The place is always spotless, the service will put a smile on your face, and so too will the prices.
Or, if you’re hunting down a good brew in town then head on over to Lucy’s Coffee Shop. It’s a quaint little cafe on Oxford Street with some outrageously delicious sarnies, paninis and toasties for you to chow down on with one of Lucy’s brilliant beverages.
