Enjoy a pint or two in our favourite pubs in Kidderminster, step it up for cocktails and wine at the town’s top bars, or go the whole hog and dance until tomorrow morning at one of our local clubs. Our nightlife guide is as wholesome or hedonistic as you like.
Nightlife in Kidderminster
Pubs
As the name suggests, The Lock Inn is a picturesque pub on the canalside in Wolverly. If the sun’s shining and you fancy some fresh air, we’d recommend taking a walk down the canal and stopping off for a pit stop pint at The Lock. It’s a traditional pub with a great selection of ales, friendly service, and decent pub grub with vegan options, too. Our top pick would be to try the handmade burgers.
Another canalside watering hole worth a mention is the Watermill in Kidderminster. It’s a large Marston’s pub, so you can expect extremely affordable food and a solid selection of cheap drinks. The waterside setting is quite exceptional, with a sun trap of a beer garden that’s perfect for sipping away an afternoon.
Waiting on a train? Grab a swift one at the Station Inn, next to Kidderminster Station. It’s a family-run pub with an excellent ale selection and some properly tasty food to boot. If you were thinking of taking a ride on the Severn Valley Railway – one of our top activities in Kidderminster – then seize the opportunity to stop off at the conveniently-located Station Inn for a drink or something to eat.

Bars
Another great reason to stay at our Kidderminster hotel is that Tappeto Lounge is just a couple of minute’s walk away. It’s an eclectic chain of cafe bars which offers everything from big breakfasts to late night cocktails. The all-day menu is great for people with dietary requirements, with plenty of delicious gluten-free and vegan options. Drinks-wise, you can pretty much pick your poison; the bar’s well stocked and the cocktails are cheap.
Veeno? Wine not. The nation’s favourite wine bar chain is on the riverside, just a couple of doors down from Tappeto Lounge. As well as having a sublime selection of vinos, you can also head to Veeno for cocktails, pints, and prosciutto. The bar’s stylish, the prices are actually pretty reasonable, they offer wine tasting parties and a 2-4-1 deal that will keep your spending in check if you’re heading out on a date night.
If you’re looking for a proper ale house then make your way to The Weavers on Comberton Hill. The walls are covered in pump clips, which goes some way to giving you an idea of how regularly they rotate their ales, sourcing Britain's best breweries. Don’t expect to find any lagers on tap, nor alcopops in the fridge. In fact, away from the ale there’s only a smattering of wine, gin and whisky to choose from, but they’re not really the reason why you visit such a CAMRA favourite as this, are they?
Clubs
If you’ve decided you want some dancing and dastardly drinks deals, there are actually a handful of clubs for you to choose from in Kidderminster. A couple of our favourites are Nubu on Dixon Street and The Vault on Oxford Street. Open until the birds start to sing, with an array of floor filling music, both these venues will satisfy your clubbing cravings.
