Entertainment in Kendal
Kendal Snowsports Club
Running from September to May each year, the Kendal Snowsports Club is the perfect place to get to grips with some moguls, perfect that nose grab jump or just whizz down the Snowflex matting in a race to the bottom. They offer a full range of ski and snowboard lessons and sessions and even run tubing parties where you can slalom down the course in an oversized inner tube.
The slope has a rope tow and several lifts to take you up the 80m climb packed with jumps, kickers and freestyle fun, as well as plenty of space to practise your snowplough and shuss. Plus, our Kendal hotel is just 300m away, or several Eddie The Eagle ski jumps!

Kendal Calling
Kendal Calling
Launched in 2006, Kendal Calling has quickly become one of the north’s biggest and best music festivals. Thanks to the incredible backdrop of the Lake District National Park, it’s also one of the UK’s most glorious festivals, as bands and DJs including Elbow, Blondie, Dizzee Rascal and Noel Gallagher play live at Lowther Deer Lodge, a spectacular area of the Lakes alive with trees, rolling hills, hidden glades, woodland meadows and more than 25,000 music fans.
The three-day festival is held at the end of July each year and is located around a 35-minute drive from our Kendal hotel. This means you could travel there and back each day and enjoy non-festival mod cons such as showers, clean clothes, toilets and a bed with a duvet, while being able to get back in time for the first band the following day. Bliss.
Brewery Arts Centre
A vibrant community-led space, the Brewery Arts Centre is home to two cinemas, several art galleries and exhibition spaces, a theatre, a drama studio and a popular restaurant and bar. With a broad remit spanning plays, musicals, stand-up comedy, live music and cinema screenings, the centre has been at the cultural heart of Kendal for over 40 years and even puts on five festivals each year, including the famous Kendal Mountain Festival. It’s also perfectly positioned in the heart of Kendal on the western bank of the River Trent, just a short walk from our hotel.
