Less than a minute’s walk from our Kendal hotel, the Westmorland Shopping Centre is the main retail space in town. It is home to over 20 stores and cafés, including the Kendal Indoor Market, a bustling space packed with stalls and retailers.

South of the town centre along the River Kent is the K Village Outlet Centre, a heavily discounted retail park where you’ll find a supersized Clarks store, several cafés and stores, and a Heritage centre which retraces the history of shoemaking in Kendal.

Getting Around

The 64-mile journey from Kendal to Leeds Bradford Airport takes around 90 minutes by car, by far the quickest and easiest way to travel, with bus and train connections taking over four hours. Alternatively, you can make your journey even easier by staying at our Leeds / Bradford Airport hotel.

Manchester Airport is slightly further away but has a better travel network, including a two-hour train journey with one connection or 90-minutes by car.

On the eastern banks of the River Kent, Kendal Train Station is a short walk from our Kendal hotel and is a one-platform station that has regular services to Windermere, Oxenholme and Manchester Airport.
