Getting Around

It’s worth travelling to Huddersfield by train just to give yourself the opportunity of admiring the splendours of Huddersfield Railway Station.  Built in the neoclassical style in the 1840s, the station is a grade-I listed building hailed by the poet Sir John Betjeman as the most splendid in England.

It’s the second busiest station in West Yorkshire after Leeds and is part of the busy TransPennine Express route between Manchester Victoria to the west and Leeds and Dewsbury to the east. There are also trains running on the Calder Valley Line, Huddersfield Line and Penistone Line while Huddersfield Bus Station also serves local routes via several bus operators as well as National Express and Megabus coaches.

The two nearest major airports to Huddersfield are Leeds Bradford Airport, just the other side of Leeds, and Manchester Airport. If you want to make the journey easier, book to stay at our Leeds Bradford Airport hotel or our Manchester Airport hotel before heading to Huddersfield.
