Restaurants

The intriguingly named Takaa Tak is probably the best Indian restaurant in the region, and we don’t say that lightly as there’s a lot of competition. A Hindi slang term for excellent, Takaa Tak is located right next to the Hounslow West tube station and a short drive from our Heathrow Airport Bath Road hotel. The food is excellent, the decor minimalist and stylish and the prices very reasonable.

Over on the banks of the Thames near the London Apprentice pub is Hei Hing Cafe & Noodle Bar, a real hidden gem of a restaurant. The food is fresh, tasty and well-priced, and the service is always on point – if you’re a Wagamamas fan, this will definitely appeal to you.

On the southern edge of Hounslow on Hanworth Road, nearby to our Twickenham East hotel, the Old School Vegetarian Restaurant doesn’t need much of an introduction. With a cool Cuban-inspired interior, fresh organic vegetables at the root of all their meals and a mouth-watering menu that spans Indian starters, Middle Eastern classics and nine – yes, nine – veggie burgers, this place will convert even the most fanatical meat-eater.

Located halfway between Heathrow and Hounslow, Cafe Restaurante Moniz is a popular Mediterranean restaurant that serves up a wide range of food including tuna steaks, towering meat skewers and perfectly grilled seafood.

Cafés

Just East of Hounslow’s town centre on London Road is Balluci, a cosy café with bare brick walls, smart wooden furnishings and an excellent array of coffees, a range of loose-leaf tea and baked goods. If you can, grab a stool by the front window with a speciality coffee from Brazil, El Salvador or India, pick up a newspaper and watch the world go by.

Alternatively, try the nearby Syon Cafe in Isleworth. The stylish café aims a little higher than most meaning the prices are a little steeper – but if the sound of sourdough BLTs, mozzarella and mango sandwiches and a range of excellent teas, coffees and hot chocolates gets you salivating, this is the place for you.

In the heart of Hounslow opposite the Hounslow Central tube station, Cafe Venezzia is a brilliantly cheap and cheerful English café. Serving sandwiches, salads, coffee and breakfasts big enough to feed a family, it’s great value for money and with a great central location.
