History of TRNSMT Festival
Glasgow’s TRNSMT is a relatively new festival, with the first event taking place in 2017. It took over from Scotland’s biggest music festival – the famous T in the Park – which was held every summer from 1994 to 2016. After T in the Park faced multiple controversies in its final year, DF Concerts announced a different festival would take its place in 2017 and, after a successful event with a lineup including Radiohead, Biffy Clyro and Kasabian, TRNSMT was born.
In the years since, TRNSMT has hosted icons like The Killers and Stereophonics in 2018, Stormzy and George Ezra in 2019, Courteeners and The Chemical Brothers in 2021, Lewis Capaldi and The Strokes in 2022, and The 1975 and Pulp in 2023 and Liam Gallagher, Sugababes and Calvin Harris in 2024.
