Top tip
The university’s great reputation isn’t the only thing to check out on your visit. Be sure to explore the university sport facilities, which include a cardiovascular suite, 18 metre swimming pool, dance studio, squash court and sports hall.

Eating and drinking
With lots of food and drink options on campus and nearby, you’ll find plenty of choice on your visit to Strathclyde.

The University of Strathclyde’s campus has heaps of places to eat. For a caffeine boost and a quick bite, head to one of the university’s cafés - Flava, Aroma, Urban Bean or Caffeine Lab. If you’re looking for a hearty meal, take a trip to one of the campus restaurants - Crave, Aura or Synergi. For a fast food hit, you’ll find Streat serving hamburgers and hotdogs outside the Lord Hope building.

Situated in the centre of Glasgow, if you head off the university’s campus there's no shortage of places to grab a bite to eat or a quick drink. Fancy something quick and tasty? Head to Martha’s for fruit pots and salads or Topolabamba for the taste of Mexico. Fancy relaxing in a bar? Take a trip to The Ark for a quick pint or Atlantic bar for great cocktails.

Getting to University of Strathclyde
Located just north of the River Clyde, in the heart of Glasgow, the University of Strathclyde has excellent transport links.

By car
There are limited on-street parking spaces in the city centre, so head to the nearest car parks on Montrose Street and Duke Street. To get a discount, take your ticket for validation at the reception within the university’s Technology & Innovation Centre.

By bus
For a quick and easy journey to the university, hop on a bus to Buchanan Street bus station. A lot of the city’s bus routes stop there, and it’s a short 10-minute walk to the university’s campus.

By train
Glasgow’s two main railway stations are close to the campus. Queen Street is a short 15-minute walk or 5 minutes in a taxi, while Glasgow Central is around 20 minutes’ walk away or a 10-minute taxi ride.
