Pubs
When it comes to good pubs in Dudley, there are lots to tell you about, so we’re going to dive straight in at The Summerhouse on Gospel End Road. Getting the basics right at a pub is very important. The Summerhouse does just that by serving a wide variety of well-kept drinks alongside a tasty and affordable food menu. The staff are very friendly, so too are the locals, and it’s clean and neatly decorated inside. If you happen to be visiting over the Christmas period, you’ll notice this pub tends to get slightly carried away with their display of Christmas lights.
The same sentiment is shared for The Fellows on The Broadway overlooking Dudley Castle and Zoological Gardens. The food takes centre stage here, with a very popular menu of British classics. The beers are good, too, with a wide choice alongside plenty of wines, spirits and soft drinks to choose from.
A true Black Country classic, The Vine Inn is a bit of an institution in these parts. With local Batham’s beer on draught and a menu consisting of Black Country meals like pasties, pork pies and cobs. Whether you’re nipping in for a quiet pint or a few beers over a game of darts, there are few better places in Dudley to do it.
Next up is the Old Swan Inn. Beyond the food, which is lovely, the pub also receives top marks on the drinks selection, atmosphere and traditional decor. You can find the Old Swan Inn on Halesown Road in Netherton, a couple of miles south of Dudley town centre.
