Shopping centres in Doncaster

Boasting over 120 stores, including Debenhams and a recently opened TK Maxx, Frenchgate has been Doncaster’s main town centre shopping destination for over 40 years.

Taking its name from the town’s medieval history, the centre underwent a £200 million redevelopment at the start of the century and now houses a food court, rooftop parking and The Mallard pub; a perfect resting point for any weary shoppers.

The centre has a wide range of outlets, such as Debenhams, Next, New Look, Sainsbury’s, Boots, Beaverbrooks, Schuh and Build-a-Bear. Frenchgate is open from 9am to 5.30pm from Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays, with some stores, including TK Maxx, open until 7pm on Thursdays. Parking isn’t a problem at the centre, with over 1,700 spaces across two car parks.

And there’s plenty of fun for kids too. Head to the first floor Guest Services to find Frenchie’s Fun Club and Fun Zone. These two child-friendly spaces are full of soft play toys to let your kids run off some steam.

If you’re looking to refuel, head to their modern food court where you’ll find options like Burger King, Chopstix Noodle Bar, Costa, Greggs and more.

Located to the south of the city, the all-encompassing Lakeside Village Outlet includes a wide range of high street stores, many offering discount prices. An airy and open space, there are plenty of benches dotted around as well as eight food and drink outlets, including a Thorntons café. There are hundreds of free car parking spaces, with late night shopping running until 8pm on Thursdays.

The site is home to 45 stores including Marks and Spencer, Next, Sports Direct, Mountain Warehouse, Gap, Clarks, The Body Shop and more, with discounts of up to 60% available on some items. The Lakeside Village Outlet is open from 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday, from 9.30am to 6pm on Saturday and 10 am to 4.30pm on Sundays.
