Shopping

People travel miles to shop in Derry/Londonderry, and with three shopping centres in the city, it’s no wonder why. Foyleside Shopping Centre is a centrally located shopping hub with over 50 stores, including high-street names and independents. There’s plenty of food and drink options, two car parks and toilet and changing facilities. The centre is open from 9am until 9pm every day except Sunday, when opening hours are 1pm until 6pm. Just next door is Richmond Shopping Centre, another large indoor complex with over 40 stores including fast-food outlets, coffee shops and restaurants. You’ll find Quayside Shopping Centre on Strand Road. It’s smaller than its two counterparts but has a few good independents and is a great place to pick up a bargain. There’s a large car park and a Tesco supermarket.

Getting around

Derry/Londonderry is easily accessible by car. The A5, A6 and N13 are the main roads that lead in and out of the town. If you’re travelling from Belfast, you’ll start on the M2 before joining the A6 which takes you right into the city. Alternatively, you can travel via rail at Londonderry Train Station, where there are regular departures and arrivals from Belfast and other large towns and cities. If you’re travelling from further afield, Derry/Londonderry is serviced by the City of Derry Airport. The small airport welcomes flights from major UK cities, such as Manchester, London and Edinburgh. It’s located just outside the city centre and is just a 15-minute drive or taxi to our Derry/Londonderry hotel.
