Restaurants

Assos Restaurant is an authentic Turkish steakhouse in nearby Crayford, on Crayford Road. It’s a spacious eatery with excellent service and one of the tastiest mixed grills you’ll ever eat. The drinks selection is also very good and the steak menu features some whopping cuts of meat, including a rather delicious T-bone.

For a taste of Italy, get yourself over to Hythe Street, where you’ll find Le Tre Sorelle, a popular Italian restaurant with some exceptional and enormous pizzas, plus the tastiest tiramisu in the business. Anyone who can speak Italian will be able to tell from the name that it’s a family-run restaurant, owned by three enterprising sisters. They’ve done an incredible job creating an authentic trattoria atmosphere; it’s always a delightful place for an evening’s dinner.

Wahaca is another good choice. You’ll find the stylish Mexican restaurant amidst the myriad retail options in the excellent Bluewater Shopping Centre, just over a ten-minute drive from our Dartford hotel. The tacos are sensational, particularly the pork pibil. Use it as an opportunity to try fried plantain if you’ve never had it before – they’re excellent.

Here’s a genuine hidden gem for you. Richie’s Diner is an American diner that’s tucked away on Green Street, Green Road, roughly a ten-minute drive from Dartford. It’s bringing authentic American grilling to the Kent countryside, featuring some of the biggest and best burgers we’ve ever eaten, as well as hot dogs longer than your forearm.

Another option for carnivores is Carnaval Meat & Tapas on Spital Street. It’s a beautiful little Spanish restaurant that’s serving up enormous flavours for the people of Dartford. Sample as much as you can of the tapas menu, or treat your taste buds to the paella. The wine list also happens to be one of the best in town.

If you’re plotting a visit to The Orchard Theatre, which is one of your top Dartford entertainment options, and you’re wondering where to grab a bite to eat before your show, The Restaurant at the Orchard Theatre is the in-house eatery. It’s as convenient as it gets, with its stylish setting, great food, and attentive service.

Cafés

For good food – and lots of it – at pocket-friendly prices, look no further than the Not Really All Day café on the High Street, which, somewhat confusingly, is an all-day café, serving up breakfast and lunch options and plenty of hot and cold drinks.

Almost next door is Bella Venezia, a more upmarket coffee house known for its quality Italian coffee and local art displayed prominently on the wall.

Esquires Coffee completes the High Street hat-trick. An ethical and organic café, this modern café has a wide-ranging food menu, spanning brunch, lunch and breakfast options plus some of the best coffee in Dartford.
