A family theme park located halfway between Bournemouth and Christchurch, Adventure Wonderland is a great day out for kids aged 12 and under with over 30 rides and attractions. As the name suggests, much of the inspiration is drawn from the Lewis Carroll classic Alice in Wonderland, meaning you can get up close and personal with the Mad Hatter, Mr Rabbit and Alice throughout the day.

The park recently underwent a revamp, with a slew of new rides and attractions added including a giant indoor play area, the White Rabbit bouncer, a Dance with the Stars marquee and a new Alice education trail. That’s all on top of the already-existing rides, including the Jungle Falls, the Runaway Train, the Flying Elephant and the Battle Boats. It’s enough to make you walk around on your knees all day trying to make yourself look 12 again!
As well as plenty of Alice in Wonderland fun, the park also invites down other childhood heroes including Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig, Bing, The Gruffalo and PJ Masks – check in advance to find out whether your family favourite will be in town for a meet-and-greet.
The park is open full time from March until September and then only opens on weekends and half-term until the end of October, while their indoor play centre Wild Things is open year round, meaning there’s plenty of fun to be had even if the weather takes a turn for the worse. With three slides, a climbing frame, a ball volcano, air blasters and a separate area for toddlers, it’s the perfect indoor activity to keep kids busy while you enjoy a coffee at the Wild Thing Café. And, if you book ahead online, you’ll get a 10% discount on all tickets, with kids under two going free.
Located opposite Bournemouth airport, the nearest Premier Inn hotel is our Christchurch West hotel, which is just a 10-minute drive away.
