Restaurants in Chester

When it comes to the best restaurants in Chester, Picanha by Fazenda – a Brazilian steakhouse – takes the number one spot on TripAdvisor. Picanha – the Brazilian word for the best cut of meat – is a mouth-watering restaurant that fuses South American cooking techniques, namely gaucho grilling and Rodizio skewers, to create an irresistible menu. Choose from beef, chicken, pork and lamb and let the chefs work their magic. And their salad buffet is well worth a trip or two during your meal, while vegan and vegetarian options are available.

Other places to eat

Making the most of fresh produce delivered from their farm partners just seven miles away, The Chef’s Table is another highly rated restaurant. The award-winning restaurant offers a limited but varied menu that delivers an explosion of tastes, with their Sunday lunch set menu their best value.

Another high-end dining spot, La P’tite France – as you’ve guessed – is an exclusively French restaurant that deals in tried-and-tested classics like snails, mussels and peg-on-the-nose ripe French cheeses. Located in the heart of Chester and less than a mile from our Chester (Railway Station) hotel, it’s open for lunch from Wednesday to Sunday, with evening meals on offer from Thursday to Saturday.

For a taste of the Mediterranean, head to Istanbul BBQ or Atina Kitchen; both of which are just half a mile from our Chester City Centre hotel. Istanbul BBQ lives up to its name – expect chargrilled meat, vibrant meze options and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Alternatively, Atina Kitchen is open for breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner, serving up Italian flavours with a British twist including Nonna’s braised beef shin lasagne, which is a third-generation recipe.

If you’re looking for a perfectly cooked steak, then head to Miller and Carter; a high-quality steak chain. The meat is matured for 30 days and then cooked to your liking – medium rare for us, please – and is a seven-minute taxi from our Chester City Centre hotel. Opera Grill also comes highly recommended. A stylish and generously sized restaurant – it can seat up to 400 guests – they deliver food with real taste and substance, using charcoal grills and wood-fired ovens. To get an even smokier flavour with your steak, make the trip to Hickory’s Smokehouse. This American-themed BBQ and smokehouse deliver a huge hit of Texas and Louisiana flavours.

Rounding off our selection, we have two bars that serve up some very appealing fare. Barlounge Chester dishes up high-quality gastro pub fare, while The Botanist menus span deli platters, salads, pies, BBQ dishes and lots more.
