Galeri was also recently extended with two dedicated cinema screens, which show the latest blockbusters, as well as a curated selection of art-house and foreign films. Sports

Sports fans wanting to catch a bit of footy during their stay can make their way to The Oval to see Caernarfon Town FC play their home games. The club was founded in 1937 but was born from the ashes of Caernarfon football clubs going all the way back to 1876 and the Caernarfon Wanderers. They’re nicknamed ‘The Canaries’ thanks to the club’s yellow and green trip. They play in the Welsh Premier League, tickets are reasonably priced and support is enthusiastic. It’s worth visiting The Oval if you can.

If you’re more of a doer than a watcher, head a few minutes up the Menai Strait and visit Plas Menai, the National Outdoor Centre for Wales. While you’re here, you can learn all about dinghy sailing, windsurfing, powerboating, cruising and kayaking. The team of expert instructors are all incredibly friendly, and the centre’s equipment is regularly updated and kept in excellent condition. As well as having direct access to the Menai Strait, there’s also an indoor pool and a mountain bike track.
