Entertainment in Bridgend
Bridgend Ravens
When it comes to local entertainment, your main sporting option is a visit to the Morganstone Brewery Field, where the Bridgend Ravens play their home games. They’re a semiprofessional rugby team with a staunch local following. The club was first founded all the way back in 1878. While it may not have much in the way of recent honours to boast about, its register of past players is a who’s who of Wales International rugby players, including Gareth Thomas, Rhys Webb and 22-time captain Rob Howley.
The Bridgend Ravens play in the Welsh Premier Division, so if you want to see a match, the standard is good. Best of all, adult tickets are only a tenner, and if you’re staying at one of our Bridgend hotels in the company of young family members, you may be glad to hear that children under 16 get in free. Check the fixture list to see if there’s a home game during your stay, and make your way down to the Brewery Field for some rugger. It’s easy to find, opposite Newcastle Castle, one of the top activities in Bridgend.

Hobos
If you want to see some live music during your stay in Bridgend, there are several good pubs on our Bridgend nightlife page that offer regular live music. However, they pale in comparison to the town’s most popular option: Hobos, an independent music venue on Queen Street. It books a great lineup of bands and tribute acts, with a particular penchant for rock music.
Always check what’s on during your stay. Bridgend may only be a small town, but as it sits in the middle of Cardiff and Swansea, it’s well-known for booking far bigger bands than you might expect. On top of that, tickets are cheap and the venue’s small, so the atmosphere is great.
Odeon Cinema Bridgend
Your easiest entertainment option in town is a trip to the cinema. The Odeon Cinema Bridgend is conveniently located just over the road from our Bridgend Central hotel. It means you’re within easy walking distance of all the latest blockbusters, which play out across the cinema’s nine screens. If you’re travelling from our Bridgend (M4, J35) hotel, the Odeon is part of the McArthurGlen Retail Park, so there’s heaps of parking if you’re coming by car. If you want to grab something to eat before or after a show, there are loads of popular fast-food options on the Bridgend cinema’s doorstep, including McDonald’s and Frankie & Benny’s.
