Nightlife in Bognor Regis
Pubs
If you’re looking for a cosy, cool pub following a beach-side excursion, look no further than The Waverley. Make sure to grab a table on the terrace overlooking the seafront – or head indoor for the roaring fire and dining room if the weather closes in – and grab something from their classic pub grub menu covering breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner options.
On the other side of Bognor towards Felpham is one of our favourite pubs, The Fox. A truly historic pub, it’s decorated with old pictures and cuttings from the past 250 years and was once the favoured watering hole for renowned poet William Blake. Today, the pub is a wonderful, family-run venue known for its excellent food, its large beer garden and an impressive range of drinks including cask-conditioned ales and quality wines.
Keep going past Felpham and you’ll come to another Bognor Regis suburb, Middleton-on-Sea. And it’s here that you’ll find The Beresford, a large carvery-style pub and restaurant with a patio, beer garden and large bar teeming with cask-ales, wines and spirits.
On the northern edge of town, a short drive from our Bognor Regis hotel is The Royal Oak, another traditional pub that’s been a mainstay of the community for centuries. The large, pink pub – yes, we did just write that sentence – screens all the latest sporting action and is open daily for pub lunches and dinner, with a decent range of guest ales, real beers and fine wines.
Another favourite is The Lamb Inn, another historic pub dating back to the 17th century with chunky oak beamed-ceilings, a roaring open fire, a range of pub gardens to choose from and a bustling 70-seater restaurant serving up some of the best gastro-grub in the region.

Bars in Bognor Regis
Bars
Sports fans will love Legends Sports Bar, one of the best spots in Bognor Regis to catch the latest football and rugby. Part of the same complex as Sheiks nightclub, Legends is open seven days a week and screens all the latest action, with a busy kitchen and bar serving a wide range of food and drinks. And, located on the Bognor Regis Pier, it’s in the heart of the action.
Nearby on the Esplanade is the Pier Bar & Diner, a smart and lively bar that puts on a wide range of live music, tribute acts and DJs. Also down on the beachfront is Fusion, a winning mix of pizza, Prosecco and gin. The wood-fired pizzas are superb, the Prosecco is chilled and bubbly and they have over 30 gins on offer, making it the perfect place for dinner and drinks.
Another great all-rounder is the William Hardwicke, a lively, family-friendly pub on High Street. As well as a classic pub lunch menu, they run regular karaoke and salsa sessions while it also doubles up as a coffee shop from 10am if you need your dose of caffeine before hitting the cocktail menu.
Lastly, The Worst Kept Secret is the only dedicated cocktail bar in Bognor, mixing up over 40 traditional cocktails with plenty of topical twists (the Love Island Iced Tea for example). With classic Tiki decor inside and warm, friendly service, the bar is open Thursday to Sunday until 11pm.
Clubs
There might only be one club in town, but when it’s a two-room, six bars, 1,500-capacity super club located on the pier, you know that Sheiks is the place to be for night owls. Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, the club covers all bases – as well as several dancefloors to dance the night away on, the club has a sports bar open for drinks and food seven days a week and a rooftop terrace with sea views.
