Activities in Bognor Regis
South Downs National Park
Stretching from the white cliffs of the Seven Sisters to the gently rolling hills of Hampshire, West and East Sussex, the South Downs National Park became the UK’s newest national park in 2011. Spanning nearly 100 miles from Winchester to Eastbourne, the park covers 1,600km2 of land covering farmland, woods, lowland heaths and mile after beautiful mile of hiking, walking and biking trails, not to mention plenty of country pubs, quaint untouched villages and even several vineyards. Bognor Regis is outside of the park’s boundaries, but our Bognor Regis hotel is only a short drive from the southern edge of the park.

Bognor Regis Pier
Hotham Park
Over 200 years old, Hotham Park is the largest and most central park in Bognor Regis, home to a 1794 clock tower and 22 acres of parkland including a boating pond, mini railway, crazy golf course and an adventure playground. The park also hosts the annual Country Fair at the beginning of August, a two-day celebration of arts and crafts, music and food and drink. If you are visiting with young family, we would really recommend a trip to Hotham Park.
Tangmere Military Aviation Museum
Military and history buffs will love the Tangmere Military Aviation Museum, packed full of fascinating exhibits covering the First and Second World Wars, the Cold War as well as several simulators open for kids and adults. Opened on the former site of RAF Tangmere in 1982, the museum opens daily from February until the end of November with an on-site café for snacks and drinks.
The Base
The leading skate park in the region, The Base is the perfect place to practise your ollies, nail that kickflip and get some serious air. Opened in 2014, the community-run skatepark is open daily until 10pm and is located on the northern edge of Bognor Regis and just a 10-minute skate from our Bognor Regis hotel.
Bognor Regis Pier
The heartbeat of any self-respecting beach-side town, the Bognor Regis Pier was built in 1865 and is one of the focal points of the town and once stretched over 1,000ft into the sea. Sadly, fire and storm damage over the years means the pier is now a much smaller proposition, but it still offers impressive windswept views across the coast, while there’s also an amusement arcade and, if you feel like dancing, it’s home to the 1,500-capacity Sheiks nightclub. Nearby you’ll also find the town’s crazy golf course, open year-round.
Bognor Regis Museum
Charting the roots of the town, Bognor Regis Museum covers a wide range of history including local fossils, vintage radios and cameras and the growth of the area from a small fishing village into a fashionable seaside resort. The small-but-informative museum is located just off the seafront and closes for winter, re-opening in April for the summer season.
