Bars and pubs

With a reputation for excellent live music, a vast array of cask ales and real beers, regular quizzes and all the live sporting action, the Windmill Inn is one of the leading pubs in Ashford. Located halfway from Ashford town centre to the Willesborough Windmill, they put on a wide range of music spanning rock, metal, blues, folk and pop, with live bands most weekends.

Down near the Ashford Designer Outlet and on the banks of the East Stour River is The Riverside Inn, a traditional but contemporary large pub with one of the best beer gardens in the region. A short drive from our Ashford Central hotel, the food and drink are excellent, and they’re one of the dog-friendly pubs in Ashford with water bowls available from the bar.

Run by Hop Stuff Brewery – good name guys – Taproom TN23 near Ashford Museum is a laid-back beer and pizza joint serving craft beer, sourdough pizza as well as a wide range of sharing plates, snacks and a decent array of wine and cocktails.

At the other end of the spectrum is the Singleton Barn, a 17th-century converted barn that’s one of the most popular pubs in Ashford: and with an indoor and outdoor play area for kids, pool and table football tables, darts boards, great food and even a petanque pitch, it covers a lot of bases.

Heading out of Ashford town centre, there are a couple of pubs well worth the visit. Out on Canterbury Road and a short drive from our Ashford Eureka Leisure Park hotel is The Old Mill, dishing up some of the best pub food in the area. Choose from their many real ales or grab one of their world wines and order one of their signature burgers or their surf and turf: you can thank us afterwards!

Equally good is The Tiger Inn at the foot of the Kent Downs. The 17th-century traditional village pub in Stowting has all the ingredients you’d expect – log fires, wooden floors and rustic touches, while the kitchen uses nothing but local, free-range and organic produce.
