Cheers! Raise a glass of PRIDE with us this June to support LGBTQ+ charity, akt

Whitbread is a long-standing supporter of Pride month and LGBTQ+ inclusion, and so our teams across the UK couldn’t be more excited about getting into the spirit of Pride this June, with decorations and celebrations taking place with the help of our internal LGBTQ+ network, GLOW. And, this year, we decided to do something extra special for a great cause.

To celebrate Pride in 2023, we’re launching a delicious, brand-new cocktail for the month of June named – you guessed it – PRIDE! Designed to embody the colourful spirit of the LGBTQ+ flag, you can enjoy this tasty new cocktail at 100 locations across the UK!

The cocktail will be perfectly layered with Absolut® Vodka, peach schnapps, blue curacao, grenadine and orange juice to create a delicious rainbow drink.

Best of all, all profits from our colourful new cocktail will be donated to the incredible LGBTQ+ charity akt, who support LGBTQ+ young people aged 16-25 in the UK who are experiencing homelessness or hostile environments.

Janet Tidmarsh, our Head of D&I at Whitbread, commented:

“I am proud to be part of a business that really values diversity, and places importance on all our teams being able to be their true selves when they come to work.

Our GLOW network works tirelessly alongside the rest of our business, to enable our LGBTQ+ team members to be represented at all levels as well as providing a network of allies and colleagues to support each other. "

"Pride is such a key point in the calendar for our LGBTQ+ community and allies, and being able to celebrate in a variety of ways is fantastic. This June at Premier Inn and our branded restaurants, we’re not just raising a glass to celebrate Pride 2023, we’re raising a rainbow and we are so proud that our new cocktail will be raising vital funds for such a brilliant charity.”

akt Fundraising Manager Chris Malla said:
“We're really grateful to Whitbread for supporting akt throughout Pride month, not only through donations raised by their cocktail, but also for improving awareness of our services. It's fantastic to see such a large nationwide hospitality group supporting young LGBTQ+ people who are facing homelessness or living in hostile environments, and we hope this partnership will help us reach even more people who need our support”.
