Team members at our Premier Inn Holyhead hotel were left stunned when a sheep unexpectantly strolled through the doors and patiently began waiting for a lift.
The fleecy fugitive, since nicknamed Sidney by staff, let itself into the hotel through the electric doors. Fully-grown Sidney sauntered into the 80-bed hotel from an adjacent field, giving reception team members the slip before trying to enter the lift.
Team members immediately spotted Sidney, and gently managed to herd him back home.
The duty manager at Premier Inn Holyhead, Linda Pritchard, said:
A big welcome to our woolliest guest yet
“People often talk about counting sheep to fall asleep so it’s more than a funny coincidence that as a hotel business synonymous with sleep we had an unexpected woolly visitor. The team were rubbing their eyes when Sidney strolled in – it was a bit like a weird dream. Everyone’s been looking forward to a holiday this year, so we’ve all been joking he just wanted to get away – he certainly didn’t want to leave easily that’s for sure. Who knows, perhaps he was fancying a snooze on one of our comfy wool-topped mattresses? Sidney’s been quite the talk of the town and no one in any other Premier Inn across the UK has ever heard of anything like this before – it’s been lovely really - he’s really put a smile on people’s faces.”
Sidney is now safely back in his field, though perhaps he’ll decide to visit one of our other Anglesey hotels again in the future.
In the meantime, our team members have returned to welcoming two-legged visitors. There’s still time to book a great-value getaway this December. We have over 700,000 rooms available for £35 and under in selected locations across the UK for stays up to Thursday 31st December.
