Sheffield City Centre (St Mary's Gate) hotel

I have stayed at many hotels and it’s the best service I have had for a long time, if you ever want a great place and friendly service this is a must, Service 10/10 rooms spotless clean and a great breakfast. I hope Courtney goes a long way in this trade as she is a breath of fresh air and a brilliant person.

What an amazingly clean and well run hotel! Stayed here for our daughter's graduation, and I can't recommend this hotel enough! It is spotless, quiet (on the 11th floor anyway!) and so efficiently run that it is so difficult to find a fault - the only minor irritation was waiting for the lifts, but that is so picky! The beds are very comfortable and clean, with extra bedding if needed. You get a nice big TV too. The aircon worked perfectly and was easy to operate. Similarly, the bathroom was very clean and the toiletries (liquid soap & shampoo) were really good quality. We had a full english breakfast at just after 08.45 and expected to queue as the hotel was fully booked, but it was surprisingly quiet. I was impressed by the breakfast which was an 'all you can eat' buffet for £10.99 and was really very good with cereals & juices, and also the usual fare of bacon, sausages, eggs, black pudding, hash browns, fried tomatoes etc. The eggs were fried, but if you wanted scrambled, poached or boiled, then they could be cooked to order too. The food was hot and really good quality. The staff were polite and unobtrusive, but also couldn't do enough for you if asked. Even the maid was lovely as we left! Overall, a lovely hotel and experience and a credit to Sheffield. Thank you!

It's a premier inn. Make you ask the staff for any offers as I did not find out till after I had sat down to eat dinner. Seemed too much hassle for the staff, who did not mention at check in, book the table for dinner. Their response 'it's only a bit more...' than the offer. Didn't give any customer care as it seemed too much apart from pleasantries. Will stay again, but will check and ask staff for promotional next time.

Great stay, felt really welcome and at home. Delicious food and a real relaxed atmosphere. All the staff really get on with each other it’s great to see.

We had a very pleasant and relaxed two-nights here away from the kids and found the hotel to be well located with comfortable and well specified rooms. We stayed in a comfort plus room which had a good walk in shower with both a normal and rainfall shower head. The room has the great premier inn beds, but also, a fridge, table and chairs, Nespresso coffee machine, and a good flat screen tv and you can plug your own streaming stick in. Being comfort plus you get a 24-hour free voucher for each night you stay for the premier internet and this is good for streaming. We were able to park in the car park beneath the hotel without incident. The staff really made it for us though from the efficient, friendly welcome on the front desk (sorry I have forgotten your name) to Nick who ran the restaurant on the evening, and the team who ran breakfast - Sally (Sallyanne?) and the chef were great, helpful and warm to everyone whilst also getting everything done.
