York City Centre (Layerthorpe) hotel

Hotel great lovely and clean rooms But car park is abysmal not enough space for the capacity of the hotel not well thought out at all poor. I had to park my car in the nearby morrison car park it was cheaper than the car park at the hotel but i had to park my car in front of other cars so I could get my kids into the hotel check in then park the car!

Absolutely brilliant place to stay. Reception staff very helpful on checking in, the room was lovely and clean, beds comfortable and the shower was very refreshing. The onsite restaurant and restaurant staff were excellent when it came to managing several allergies throughout our large family and went above and beyond to ensure our meals were allergen free and that they were aware of who has the allergies to ensure a tip top allergy safe service. The only little things I'd suggest for future is when the room is booked for a family, to provide more cups / tea / coffee etc as there was only enough for 2 people in our room. We will certainly come back again!

We chose this as it was a newer Premier Inn and had stayed at the Blossom Street ones before. We were hugely disappointed from the get go, it did not feel new in the room. The chair was stained all over, there was a stain on the carpet. Hairs on the bed and only one hard pillow each, we usually get two each on the bed plus spares in a bag. There was one very tired looking scratchy bath towel and hand towel which were not very well presented, not the fluffy white ones we normally get with a Premier Inn. We found another bath towel folded on the bottom or the wardrob part but the surface was dusty so put us off using it. The door wouldn't lock so had to leave our belongings unattended until they sent someone to fix. Breakfast was lovely and probably the best cooked breakfast we have had at a Premier Inn, kitchen staff were welcoming and helpful. There were a lot of discarded plates and bowels due to dried old food on them, and we too had to soft through for clean ones. Overall disappointed as it is advertised as New but was by far the worst one we have stayed in. Location is good though

Is a modern hotel in a very central location, rooms are typical premier inn style and pretty basic but had everything you needed. Air conditioning was good, bed was comfortable and TV was of reasonable size. Room was quiet, shower is a in-bath type so not ideal but acceptable. Car is quite small and definitely not big enough for every guest to stay in so is a first come, first served arrangement. If you leave the car park you will likely lose your park

Second time staying and great again. Staff friendly and working hard but did seem there wasn't enough of them at busy times.
