      "Very good as always."
Great reception staff - rooms are typically uniformed but spotlessly clean. Facilities are excellent - breakfast is great as per. New check in system is decent - only thing which lest this place down is the appearance of the restaurant area - needs redecorating - or at the very least the walls need a good scrub.
      "Not good"
We have been using Premier Inns and, before that, Travel Inns for the last thirty years, and Christchurch East has got to be the worst we've ever encountered. I have always liked Premier Inns because I have been sure of a good sleep on a firm, comfortable mattress. At Christchurch East the mattress was soft and sagging and I didn't sleep well. The shower was elderly and temperamental, making it very difficult to adjust either the flow or the temperature, and the bathroom itself was tiny. There was no lift - and we had a lot of luggage as we were heading off for a week's holiday. And for all this discomfort we paid £130.
      "Intolerable heat - Anniversary ruined"
If I'd paid the extra for the option to cancel I would've done so. Unfortunately, I hadn't so we had to endure the most uncomfortable anniversary weekend of our lives. This was partly on me for assuming that in the height of summer, they would have portable AC units in the rooms like other Premier Inn's we've stayed. They only had fans which succeeded in circulating hot air for the entire stay. The temperatures in the rooms aren't just uncomfortable, they're enough to make people ill (I'm talking mid-high 30's even overnight, widnow open, fan on full). This included myself and my wife who are both heat sensitive. I suffered a migraine attack after the first night of overheating/no sleep, which then meant I was unable to leave the room for much of our stay. As it was the heat in the room causing the issue, this only made the pain worse. My wife suffers with fibromyalgia, which is triggered by the heat. She had a flare-up the likes of which we haven't seen for years. Again, being forced to stay in the room causing the issue was torture. One of the regular guests told us that the hotel requests the installation of air conditioning every year, only to be turned down. Considering the cost of the rooms set against the poor standard of upkeep, I'm disgusted they haven't spent some of the obscene profit on making the guests comfortable. Not only would it provide cool air in the summer, but warm air in the winter, providing a cost-effective solution. The staff were fantastic, understanding and apologetic. But they can only do so much. The only thing that kept us sane was cold baths/showers, and the Beefeater staff providing us with unlimited ice and refrigerated water. DO NOT stay here if you can't bear 24/7 heat with no respite. We won't be using PI again, and I wish I'd opted for the refund option when I'd paid.
      "Disappointed with quality of bathroom"
The place seemed very tired with old fittings and the bathroom had black mould on the mastic. I have stayed in Premier Inn’s before and been very impressed, so much so that we decided to choose Premier inn over travel lodge but we were very disappointed by this stay. Certainly not as per TV advert
      "Disappointing stay"
A little disappointed with the premier inn the decor is tired with cracked tiles in the bathroom, also, lots of cobwebs and dust. The grounds are overgrown and unkempt. The staff were very helpful and polite. Our key card stopped working early on the morning of our departure so we couldn’t get into the main doors or our room!
