FAQs | Speed up your check-in at our German hotels

Take the hassle out of check-in by filling out your registration forms in advance. We’ll send you an email with a link to pre check-in, which needs to be completed before you can start your stay. Then all that’s left to do on arrival day is complete any outstanding steps, like picking up your keycard!

How does pre check-in work
 

  1. You’ll receive an invitation email from us a week before your stay.

  2. Click the link in the email, which will take you to the pre check-in start page.

  3. Enter your last name, booking number and date of arrival to verify your identity and find your booking.

  4. If you’ve made a booking for more than one room, fill out your own pre check-in form and forward the invite to other guests so that they can speed up their check-in process too.

  5. Check the personal details you’ve already provided and fill in the ones outstanding.

  6. For authorisation purposes, we’ll ask for your credit card details, even if you’ve already paid for your room or have provided your payment details before. No payment will be taken – we just need to check it’s you who’s staying with us, and verify your card.

  7. Congratulations – you’ve successfully completed pre check-in! All that’s left to do on arrival is complete any final steps, like picking up your keycard.

All guests can use this service in Germany, provided that a direct booking is made via our Premier Inn website (limited availability of this service through third parties).

Your stay won’t be guaranteed by providing your credit card details during pre check-in – this is just for identity verification. If you booked using a Flex rate with the option to pay on arrival and have not provided a credit card upon booking to guarantee your stay, please call our German Reservation Centre on +49 (0) 69 244 330 431*.

If you need to amend your stay after you’ve completed pre check-in, please speak to our friendly reception team on arrival to sign your registration card in person. Your pre check-in won’t be valid after amending your stay.

Pre check-in FAQs

What is pre check-in? What are the advantages?

Before staying in our hotels in Germany, there are a few registration forms that need to be filled out for all guests. Pre check-in lets you do this in advance to save time so that on arrival day, you’ll only have the last few steps to complete, like picking up your keycard.

Can I add breakfast or switch to Premier Plus during pre check-in?

Currently, additions or amends aren’t possible during pre check-in. Don’t worry though – you can easily book your breakfast or ask about Premier Plus availability at reception when you arrive at our hotel.

I’ve booked multiple rooms. Can I complete pre check-in for all of them?

Only the lead guest in each room can complete pre check-in for that room. An email link will be sent to the lead booker, who can forward the pre check-in invitation to other guests to complete.

How do I receive my room key after pre check-in?

Once you’ve successfully completed your pre-check-in and paid for your stay, you can collect your keycard from our reception team on arrival.

Why do I have to provide my credit card details and what can I do if I don't have a credit card?

We use your credit card for identity verification, and it’s a mandatory part of the pre check-in process. No payment will be taken – we just need to check it’s you who’s staying with us, and verify your card. If you don’t have a credit card, don’t worry – you can still check in with us at reception.

Can I pay my outstanding balance during pre check-in?

No – please speak to our reception team on arrival to pay for the rest of your stay. Your credit card details are only used for identity verification during pre check-in.
