Wellbeing at Premier Inn

When you’re travelling for work it sometimes feels like it’s all go go go. At Premier Inn, we really care about the wellbeing of our guests, and realise that even in the busiest of times, focusing on wellbeing is incredibly important.

We worked with Dr Zoe Williams (Doctor and public figure) who shared why she loved staying with us at Premier Inn and through her experience what she believes we do as a business when it comes to focusing on wellbeing.

From the moment you arrive at our hotels to sleeping in our beds to waking up to a refreshing shower and breakfast, it’s our aim to make sure everything is set up for you to feel relaxed and looked after.

Zoe stayed at our Premier Inn Old Street hotel after a busy day of filming, plus she was up early the next day. She stayed in one of our Premier Plus rooms and had our buffet breakfast the next morning to fuel her day ahead. Talking about her stay, she said “You can always rely on Premier Inn to provide clean rooms and comfy beds, and it was great to see all of the extra measures taken to make the stay safe in relation to Covid”. Down to our rigorous new Premier Inn CleanProtect hygiene promise it gives our guests peace of mind when they’re working away from home and a safe and reassuring warm welcome.

Not having to worry about feeling safe is just one of the many things that promote a healthy wellbeing. Dr Zoe shared her top five tips for staying well whilst working away from home:

Workspace – “Keep your workspace separate from your sleep space. Utilise the desk, rather than having the laptop in bed. And when you’re finished put the computer and cables away, so your brain recognises that it’s time to ‘sleep’ not ‘work’”

Move/meditate – “Working away usually means you have more time to yourself in the evening, so make good use of it by doing a YouTube or Instagram workout or meditation in your room.”

Sleep prep – “I always use a pillow spray both at home and away, so it’s something familiar that my brain recognises and helps me overcome that sense of disorientation. And select the right pillows for you – hard of soft?”

Get to bed early – “It can be tempting to stay up later working on the laptop or watching TV and then regret it the next day. Take the opportunity for an early night and if you have a baby like me - an uninterrupted night.”

Breakfast – “Premier Inn has loads on offer at breakfast, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to load up for the day and if you’ve had an early night, no need to weigh up whether to have brekkie or the extra 20 minutes in bed.”

Speaking about how you can consider all these tips when staying at a Premier Inn hotel, she says: “You can absolutely manage all of these in a Premier Inn room, which is spacious enough for the workout, has a choice of pillows AND a full buffet breakfast for you to tuck into. But the most important thing for me is having full confidence that the basics are ALWAYS taken care of, and the convenience of knowing that Premier Inn hotels really are everywhere”.
