Premier Inn – the go-to for business stays

While leisure travel has been locked down for almost 15 months, many of our hotels stayed open for business guests who had to travel regularly for work. We know business trips come in all shapes and sizes, so last month we invited some of our busy professional guests to tell us about their working weeks, how they juggle working in different places across the country and, most importantly, what they really need from hotels to make their lives easier.

We were delighted to hear from Michelle Sultan, Mikey Phillips and India Timmis as well as The Plastered Sisters; Ella Butt and Kate Reading who took the time to tell us about their stays with us.

Michelle (@hairbymichellesultanis a hairstylist who works with celebrity clients across the UK. For the last 20 years she’s travelled up and down the country working with clients. Michelle works to a demanding schedule that often puts her in a new location every day.

“The team has made it easy for people like me, who are always on the road travelling for work with their great Premier Plus rooms” she writes. “There’s more comfort with improved workspaces, which is great for my ginormous kit, a Nespresso machine (THE BEST), Wi-Fi (A MUST), the best super-comfy beds (I have to have a good sleep!)”.

“There’s more comfort with the best beds” says celebrity make-up artist Mikey (@makeupbymikey), “I even have the super-comfy mattress at home!” Mikey, like Michelle, often works long days on shoots and can be in one place one day and a different one the next depending on who he is working with. He shares Michelle’s thoughts on great features in the rooms, and adds his favourite “It also includes my must-have Nespresso machine, purple pods are the one! Wi-Fi, extra workspace, a vanity unit with loads of plugs, yes extra plugs!”.

For India, owner of Stargrazing Co (@stargrazingco), a company that makes delicious grazing platters, the most important thing is to “…to FEED me! The last thing I want to be doing after a long day catering is making myself something to eat, so having restaurants at the hotels offering a wide menu choice is exactly what I need”. With 2am starts and a 4-hour drive one way, it’s no wonder she’s ready to be looked after when her day is finally done!

Lucky for India and lots of busy professionals like her then, that we have a restaurant on-site or next to all 830+ of our hotels. You’ll either find a Thyme restaurant on-site, or one of our other great value restaurants like Bar + Block, Beefeater and Cookhouse + Pub next door. All our restaurants serve the Premier Inn Breakfast, an unlimited full English breakfast and the lighter continental breakfast.

For busy duo the Plastered Sisters Ella Butt and Kate Reading (@plasteredsisters), working away is vital to the expansion of their business. “Check in was a breeze, the room was spotless, the food was lovely and the staff were nothing but helpful which made our stay feel effortless and meant we could focus on the job at hand”.

A big thank you to our busy business guests for taking the time to tell us what they thought.

We loved hearing what they had to say and finding out how what we do (brilliant hotels and restaurants) helps them do what they do. Whether it’s our comfy beds, our tasty food, our great value or our amazing team members, it’s clear we make business trips better.

Don’t believe our hotels could be this good for business?  Maybe it’s time to make a booking and find out for yourself. Don’t forget business guests can get a minimum of 5% and up to a 15% discount off our standard Flex rate by booking through Business Booker.
