Good for the environment, good for everyone
At Premier Inn we care about being a Force for Good, and part of that means doing business in a way that has the least impact on the environment. We believe electric vehicles and giving more options for people to charge electric vehicles at our hotels goes some way to achieving that.
We’re introducing over 500 GeniePoint Network electric car charging points across our hotels over the next three years to make our hotels even more convenient for electric car owners. Electric cars reduce carbon emissions, they’re providing a great investment for environmentally conscious businesses to make to reduce their carbon footprint.
The GeniePoint Network is powered by ENGIE, the world’s leading independent power producer. ENGIE produces low carbon energy to businesses across the UK and Ireland. Low carbon electricity dramatically reduces emissions, and even taking electricity generation into account electric cars generate 15-30% fewer emissions compared to petrol or diesel cars.
Fast charging
The GeniePoint charging points we’re installing generally charge an electric car to full in 30 minutes, depending on the battery size. For businesses with multiple electric vehicles or companies that rely on being able to move fast, that’s rapid charging at our hotels across the country with our first site London Enfield launching in June 21.
Find charge points before you travel
You can check whether the hotel you’re booking at has a GeniePoint Network charging station using the ENGIE app. The app is free, provides 24/7 support and gives you up to date information on the best places to charge your vehicles.
