A master key for a VIP – Santa Claus is coming to town!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and we’ve got some great news for any families staying at Premier Inn this Christmas. For the first time ever, we’ve created a master key for Father Christmas himself.

This one-of-a-kind keycard is for the exclusive use of Father Christmas and will allow him to visit Premier Inn hotels across the UK to deliver presents on December 24^th, 2020.

We created this VIP master key after so many of our guests up and down the country wondered how presents can be delivered to Premier Inn rooms without a chimney or a fireplace. Now, we’ve made it easier than ever before for Father Christmas to visit. In previous years, Santa had to rely on our friendly Premier Inn hotel managers to let him in to each hotel – which can take a little while if they’re busy helping guests. Now, he will be able to complete his rounds in record time , while young guests enjoy a comfy sleep in Premier Inn’s luxury beds, as he doesn’t need to wait for anyone to let him in.

Our Managing Director Simon Ewins said:

“All our guests are special but perhaps none more so than Santa, who many of our long-serving team members have known for years now through his annual visit to our hotels up and down the country. This year, we’re making it easier than ever for him to complete his rounds by presenting him with his own special key which is on its way to the North Pole as we speak. This Christmas is like no other, but we wanted to reassure our guests that some things never change, including the warm welcome you can expect at Premier Inn”.

And we’re not just helping Father Christmas by giving him a key. We’re keeping him and all our guests safe this Christmas with the Premier Inn CleanProtect promise. Our enhanced cleaning regime will ensure Santa’s safety at every Premier Inn hotel, and he’ll be sanitising his hands between every visit, too. At the end of the night, when all his presents have been delivered, Father Christmas will drop his keycard in one of our new contactless drop-off boxes, where it will be deactivated automatically until he needs it again for Christmas 2021.
