Reading South (Reading Gateway, M4/J11) Hotel

Location good, car parking good, rooms clean with good air con. Bathrooms are well kept and clean, comfy beds. Breakfast was not the normal premier inn standard, cooks didn’t seem to be able to cook to meet demand and were only prepared to cook a small number of items only when everything was gone. Impossible to have a “full” English maybe an egg and sausage, then wait 10 mins for other items.

Location is great for the motorway. However compare to other Premier Inns this is one of the more run down ones. I've stayed in worse places, but it didn't feel like it was worth what was paid, particularly the extra paid for breakfast. Car park is part of a wider retail park, so was a bit concerned about parking a hire car in it, as spaces were quite small! Air con is there, but not the best. Room was actually very quiet despite being on a main road. The room itself was clean, but everything else was pretty sticky and covered in fingerprints. Bedding was ill fitting and uncomfortable. Staff were mostly helpful friendly and responsive apart from a couple of people who seemed really hassled. I felt bad as they seemed quite understaffed for the size of the hotel.

Poor service. Horrible staff. No understanding to provide travel cot for my child or put our food in a fridge in this heat. Also asked continuously for late check out and didn't mind paying but still was refused rudely. Also breakfast staff were being very rude when we asked for items we were told they weren't available when the items were clearly available in front of us in the staff area. Not accommodating at all weren't helpful in anything we asked or needed . Very disappointed as it wasn't easy to travel.

We had booked a room here for us after a concert at Wembley, we phoned to say we would be arriving in the early hours of the Saturday morning and nothing was too much trouble warm welcome on the phone and again in check in. Really quite considering our room backed on to the main road in to Reading. We all slept well and felt refreshed when we got up. Would definitely stay here again good price and great location for the M4 roughly an hour drive from Wembley depending on traffic to get out of wembely.

Premier Inn normally have a comfortable bed, clean bathroom and good breakfast. This one had the first two. But a terrible breakfast. Precooked fried eggs were like rubber and the entire cooked breakfast was cold on each day.
