Reading South (Reading Gateway, M4/J11) Hotel

The staff at this Premier Inn, Reading Gateway, are exceptionally good, friendly, considerate and always helpful. I stay here regularly and have consistently experienced helpful and attentive service from all of them. In particular Mia, Joanne, Adeline, Aditi, and Dan who all go above and beyond to ensure I have a comfortable stay every time. In addition the rooms are always kept clean and the food in the restaurant is fresh and well-prepared. Five stars all round!

We had an enjoyable overnight stay here. The room was nice and the location was excellent with an Aldi next door and Costa. Plenty of parking just log your car registration inside with premier inn. We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good, but sadly the service was very slow and needs improvement. The breakfast items were slowly refilled on the hot counter, plates weren't cleared very quickly.

Checked in just around 1am Nice welcome, quickly was in our room. Bed comfy, room warm & clean Great service

So I walked into the on site restaurant at 7:30 as booked and stood waiting for around 7-8 minutes before asking the young man behind the bar do I just sit down or obey the sign stating your host will be with you soon , he was at this time pouring pints of lager well I say pouring he was wasting pints as I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a badly poured pint anyhow I was handed a set of menus and told to find myself a table which I did and waited And waited And waited after 27 minutes as I timed it I stood up and went back to the counter as I was sat without a drink or food order the same young man was at the counter and said he would be straight over he did come over I ordered my drink and meal he said how do you want your steak cooked I said rare to medium to which he looked baffled saying they don’t do that but can do medium rare There were two other women working and it was not just him what desert would you like I said I would choose later but he said I need to do it then , I politely declined to order and said I would order once I finished my main meal The food was excellent it was the service I ordered a mixed grill with a upgrade on the steak which again was cooked perfectly the meal took a further 25 minutes to arrive and I had to again go to the counter to order a second drink the two young ladies were to busy talking leaving the customers to self order absolutely appalling service . Once I ordered my desert it was pancakes which comes with ice cream and strawberries, however it arrived without strawberries to which I questioned the absence I had finished before the young lady returned to tell me they had none but could have alternative fruit . I did out of frustration ask what was the alternative to which she had to go back to the chef to ask what it was ! Simply appalling service .

Avoid .Do not stay here. Staff do not know what they are doing.Dinner & Breakfast shockingly bad.
