• What pillows do hotels use?
  Different hotels offer different kinds of pillows. At Premier Inn, we offer a choice of firm or soft pillows, and they’re available to buy for yourself, too.
  
  
• What pillows should I use if I sleep on my back?
  If you sleep on your back, your pillow should be lower than it would be for side sleepers. Choose a comfy, supportive pillow for under your head, and maybe try another pillow under your knees to support your spine.
  
  
• What pillows are best if I sleep on my side?
  The best pillow for side sleepers is a firm pillow, high enough to fill the gap between your shoulder and your head.
  
  
• What type of pillow firmness should I buy?
  Pillow firmness depends on your sleeping position as well as the firmness of your mattress. If you sleep on your back or side, your pillow should be firmer than if you sleep on your front.
  
  
• Why are hotel pillows so fluffy?
  Our hotel pillows feel fluffy because of their soft fibre fillings – and because they’ve been freshly plumped by our staff.
  
  
• What does a pillow protector do?
  Pillow protectors provide a protective layer for your pillows, keeping them safe from stains and nightly wear and tear.
  
  
• Are pillows machine washable?
  Most pillows are machine washable, but it’s always worth checking the label. Our Premier Inn Pillows and their protectors are machine washable.

• How often should I wash my duvet?
  Giving your duvet a wash around three or five times a year is ideal for keeping your quilt super-soft and clean.
  
  
• What does a mattress protector do?
  A mattress protector is a piece of bedding that helps protect your mattress from dirt and general wear and tear, in much the same way as pillow protectors keep your pillows safe. They’re mostly made of super-soft materials – like our own Premier Inn mattress protectors – and are attached to the mattress before putting the bottom sheet on a bed.
  
  
• How often should I wash my mattress protector?
  Mattress protectors don’t need to be washed as often as your bed sheets, but ideally, you’ll want to give them a good wash every two or three months.
  
  
• What bedding do I need?
  Finding the right bedding to suit your style and comfort needs isn’t easy – that’s why it’s always best to do your research to help find your perfect bedding based on room temperatures and sleep styles. • How often should I wash my sheets?
  It’s best to wash your bed sheets every couple of weeks. Not only does it help keep your bedding clean and fresh, it’s also important if you have allergies, as you’re tackling the general build-up of dust that gathers on your bedding throughout the week.
  
  
• What temperature should I wash my sheets at?
  Although it depends on exactly what materials you’re washing, a 60-degree wash or higher is ideal for giving your bed sheets a thorough clean. 
  

• What is a duvet tog?
  Essentially, a tog is just a way of measuring how well your duvet retains heat. There’s a ‘tog scale’ when it comes to buying duvets, ranging from 1 tog to 15 togs. 1 tog duvets are the coolest, and 15 tog duvets are the warmest. A 10.5 tog is one of the most popular duvets in the UK. 
  
  
• What tog duvet for summer nights?
  If you’re looking for the best summer duvet, try aiming for a duvet with a tog rating anywhere between 2.5 and 7.5 – a light duvet in this range is one of the best ways to stay cool on warm nights.
  
  
• What tog duvet for winter nights?
  The higher the tog rating, the warmer your duvet will be, but keep in mind that the 15-tog duvet – the highest on the tog rating – may be a little too hot to sleep with every night. For the best winter duvets in the UK, aim for somewhere in the range of between a 10.5 and 13.5 tog duvet.

• Can I put a new mattress on an old divan base?
  You can put a new mattress on an old divan base, but ideally, you should try to replace the whole bed as keeping an old base may impede the comfort of the new mattress.
